    General Cigar launched the Macanudo brand late 60's early 70's, under the direction of Ramón Cifuentes. Today, General Cigar is a large tobacco conglomerate, home to Macanudo and other iconic brands made for the U.S. market, including Cohiba, Partagas and La Gloria Cubana.  Macanudo is distinct in the company’s portfolio, and is the longest-tenured brand developed exclusively to satisfy U.S. consumers. Every single Macanudo shares the same journey as the very first Macanudo cigar, which was handcrafted in 1968.  The Macanudo team of highly skilled agronomists start by preparing the soil to ensure the ideal environment for each seed.  The master blenders are tasked with creating unique and complex blends that satisfy the most demanding consumer palates.
