The Lost City began in 2004 when Carlito Fuente planted tobacco at Chateau de la Fuente during the summer so that Andy Garcia could film The Lost City. Initially just intended for a setting for the film, Andy asked for the cigars to be produced with The Lost City logo for a project that would benefit his foundation, the Lost City Scholarship Fund. After five years of aging, the summer-grown tobacco turned out to be superb. It features the original Fuente Fuente OpusX wrapper, but with a unique character of its own.
